Ok I am a sucker for new gadgets. Especially if those new gadgets are for the camera. And yes, I just so happened to ‘accidentally’ purchase myself a new lens. Not because I really needed it, wanted it. Guilty as charged. I have coverted the Lensbaby series since first happening upon them at a photography trade show at Birmingham NEC many moons ago. They are very cult or dare I say it hipster in their presence. They are a marmite lens to say the least. Love it or hate it, they are VERY popular. I am a huge lover of them.

I managed to get my hand on the older lens Lensbaby 3G. Its a distortion lens that you can full manipulate. I love that I can twist and pull it as much as I like. This means the ‘sweet spot’ (The bit in focus) can be moved about and the rest of the frame can be as distorted as you like.

It takes a lot of getting used to…I had a little play. I am not 100% ok with it but I am LOVING it. The soft focusing, the infinite possibilites etc etc

I am so gearing up some fashion shoots to really push it. The lens really is wonderful for so many shoots: portraits, weddings, boudoir and fashion
