Your Engagement Photos – think outside the box

Tis the season for present giving, love and family and as we know some people take this awesome time of year to ask their beloved to marry them! Whoop! I love a Christmas and New Year proposal. All the family are there so often and its super romantic. So when it comes to your engagement photos it is time to have images that are just as out of this world as that proposal moment was. I love engagement photo shoots, not only are they fabulous ways to formally announce your engagement (I mean besides the obligatory Facebook update) they are so often used by my couples for their ‘Save The Date’ cards.

I have photographed many an engagement session around the Northamptonshire area so I thought I would give you some ideas for yours.

Think Location Location Location.

Where did you first meet? Or maybe where you were proposed to? Perhaps there is somewhere you always go together that you love. Or what about the venue you have chosen to get married at? One of my couples had their engagement session at their wedding venue. Not only do you get an idea of where to photograph your wedding photos, you get to hint to your guests where you are planning the big day.

Get Back To Nature

We spend so much time running about the place with life sometimes it is lovely to stop and take a moment back in nature. So perhaps have your engagement shoot at your favourite woodland walk? It is cute and makes for some lovely casual and more formal images. Don those wellies and lets get out in the great outdoors!

Cozy Moments

Got a favourite coffee shop or pub that you love? Why not have a cozy engagement session there? Some hot coffee and cake whilst showing off engagement rings and having a blast?

Go Wild

I have had engagement photo shoots take place at canoe parks, the supermarket (I will release that one soon) and even a burger bar and a roller disco. Go wild. Show off who you are. Dress up or down. Bring balloons, bring the pets and have a blast. Also an engagement session is an amazing way to get to know your photographer. But the most important thing is to have fun. Enjoy.
