The beautiful FiFi Croissant (burlesque performers have THE best names) is a French darling with such drive and passion for her act it was a delight to photograph her. Not only did we do her new burlesque act promo photos, we also were able to photograph some more candid images. Well when I say candid I mean candid as FiFi is when in her Betty Boop costuming. A more performer being a performer but appearing not to be. Complicated but the visuals are most endearing.

Promo photos have to sell the act with it’s aesthetics and not simply be yet another boring pose and shoot. As FiFi was channel Betty Boop we went for a more cartoon aspect with some slightly grittier colour versions to show the darker side to Betty’s characterisation.  I adored the natural light work we also did in my studio gallery here in Northampton too. The dressing room images are merely candid captures but I think they really tell more of the story of both FiFi’s shoot with myself but also the Betty Boop character she is playing.
