The world of fashion and it’s consumption has long been a growing concern for all. Thankfully there has been a real shift in how people buy clothing and new ethical ‘slow’ fashion brands are emerging. Once such brand is ethical knitwear designer Ieva Dickson. Not only are all the items handmade, each purchased item means a tree is planted. Ieva and I often chat on Instagram (come join me) but recently she reached out to ask me to shoot her products. I have missed shooting fashion editorial photography. Fashion is about the clothing with fashion editorial is about telling a story with the clothing.

There was only one model for the job: Luna. I have worked with Luna so many times before. She is a creative through and through. Be it her music, her stylist work or her textile design. She was the choice and only choice. Thankfully, both Ieva and I agreed and the shoot was booked in.

The day of the shoot rolled around and the colours came rolling. We had a bright colour palette with a bright yellow background and lots of colourful garments and accessories. Most of the additional items for the shoot came from our own wardrobes which just proves I dont always wear black…the woes of being a photographer is you seem buy a lot of black.

You can watch the behind-the-scenes video here:

The shoot was a success and we caused quite the commotion as we also did some outside (you can see that in the video). I will hopefully be working with Ieva and more brands with the same philosophy soon.
