Calling all Northampton photographers!
I’m running a hands-on workshop designed to help you take better photos right now using nothing but your camera and the light around you. No flash, no fancy kit, no overcomplication. Just practical skills you can use instantly.
We’ll cover:
✨ How to find and use good natural light using the lights from the stores.
✨ Simple composition techniques that instantly improve your images
✨ How to get sharp, clean, professional-looking photos
✨ How to shoot confidently in any location
✨ How to work with models/subjects without it feeling awkward
✨ Camera settings made simple. No jargon
This workshop is perfect for beginners to early-intermediate photographers who want to upgrade their skills without needing extra gear.
You will need to bring:
- Camera with lenses (ideally primes for the low light. F1.8, F2, F2,8. Those who shoot Nikon DSLR or Mirrorless I have some you can use.
- Spare batteries.
- Spare memory cards.
- Reflector (but you can borrow mine if needs be)
Please note you must be ready to be outside in the cold. We will be walking about so ensure you are suitable dressed.
There will be a person to photograph to help you improve/act as model. Over 18 only.
Spaces will be limited so everyone gets individual guidance.

Photography Workshop – Terms & Conditions
1. Booking & Payment
1.1. A place on the workshop is only confirmed once full payment has been received.
1.2. All bookings are non-transferable unless agreed in writing by Khandie Photography.
2. Cancellations (Participant)
2.1. Cancellations made 7 days or more before the workshop date will receive a 50% refund.
2.2. Cancellations made within 4 days of the workshop date are non-refundable.
2.3. If you are unable to attend, you may request to transfer your place to another person. This must be agreed in advance and provided in writing.
3. Cancellations (Khandie Photography)
3.1. If the workshop must be cancelled or postponed due to unforeseen circumstances (including illness, venue issues, or safety concerns), you will be offered either:
- a new date or
- a full refund.
3.2. Khandie Photography is not responsible for any additional costs you may incur (travel, parking, accommodation, childcare, loss of earnings, etc.).
4. Weather Policy
4.1. This workshop may take place outdoors or in locations where weather is a factor.
4.2. In the event of unsafe or extreme weather conditions, the workshop may be:
- moved to an alternative location,
- adjusted to suit available weather conditions, or
- postponed to a new date.
4.3. Light rain or overcast weather does not constitute grounds for cancellation. These conditions are often ideal for learning natural-light photography.
5. Late Arrival
5.1. The workshop will start promptly.
5.2. Late arrivals will not receive extra time or partial refunds.
6. Behaviour & Conduct
6.1. All participants must behave respectfully towards other attendees, models, members of the public, and location staff.
6.2. Any abusive, discriminatory, or disruptive behaviour may result in removal from the workshop without refund.
6.3. Participants must always follow instructions for safety, location rules, and model comfort.
7. Liability
7.1. Participants are responsible for their own safety and the safety/security of their equipment.
7.2. Khandie Photography accepts no liability for loss, theft, or damage to personal belongings or camera equipment.
7.3. Participants take part in the workshop at their own risk.
7.4. You must inform the photographer in advance of any medical conditions or access needs that may affect your participation.
8. Image Use & Permissions
8.1. Images taken during the workshop may be used in your personal or professional portfolio.
8.2. Images taken during the workshop cannot be used commercially unless otherwise stated.
8.3. Participants may not record or film the teaching content for redistribution or online sharing.
9. Models
9.1. Where models are provided, participants must treat them with professionalism and respect.
9.2. Do not ask models to pose in ways that are unsafe, inappropriate, or outside the workshop’s scope.
9.3. All images featuring models must be used in accordance with the usage terms provided on the day.
10. Accessibility & SEN Needs
10.1. This workshop welcomes photographers with additional or special educational needs.
10.2. Please let Khandie Photography know at the time of booking if you require adjustments so appropriate support can be planned.
11. COVID/Illness Policy
11.1. If you are unwell, please inform us. Attendance may be refused if illness poses a risk to others.
11.2. A transfer to a future date may be offered at the discretion of Khandie Photography.

By booking a place on this workshop, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to these Terms & Conditions.
