Hi, I’m Khandie Rees.

A photographer, author, podcast host, creative educator, and the chaos behind Khandie Photography.

Based in Northampton, Northamptonshire, I specialise in portrait photography, branding photography, fashion photography, commercial photography, musician promo shoots, music photography, event photography, creative editorial work and weddings across the UK.

My photography studio in Northampton has become known for creating bold, personality-driven imagery for people who want something with far more character than stiff poses and awkward smiles. Whether I’m photographing creatives, performers, business owners, families or fellow industry professionals, my approach is always the same — create images that actually feel like you.

And yes, there will probably be sarcasm, music and snacks involved.

Biography

Photography was never supposed to become a career.

Before Khandie Photography existed, I served in the RAF before later moving into the entertainment industry, performing internationally in sold-out productions and appearing in film work. Creativity has always been part of who I am, but photography quickly became the thing that consumed me completely.

What started as an obsession with vintage cameras and image-making evolved into a full-time photography business, professional studio, published work, educational platforms and a career working with incredible clients across Northamptonshire and beyond.

These days, my work has been featured in fashion and industry publications, and I regularly work with businesses, artists, performers, models and brands looking for photography that feels authentic, creative and unapologetically different.

Alongside client work, I’m also heavily involved in photography education and the creative industry.

I am the author of two bestselling photography books focused on cutting through the nonsense and gatekeeping often found within the photography world. I also host the popular photography podcast The Loud Lens — a blunt, honest and often chaotic podcast covering photography, creativity, business, industry drama and everything photographers are usually too scared to say out loud.

Over the years, I’ve built a reputation for being direct, knowledgeable and genuinely invested in helping photographers grow without feeding them unrealistic rubbish.

I also provide mentoring for photographers and creatives looking to build stronger businesses, improve confidence and develop their creative identity.

Photography Studio In Northamptonshire

My photography studio is based in Northampton, Northamptonshire, and welcomes clients from across the East Midlands and the wider UK.

While many shoots take place in the studio, I also travel regularly for location shoots, commercial work, fashion events, live music photography and creative projects. My camera kit has seen more of the country than most people’s gym memberships.
